💙 Honoring the Legacy of Camari Lashaun Hunt Our son, Camari Lashaun Hunt, was a brilliant light; a young man whose presence brought joy, laughter, and inspiration to everyone blessed to know him. On January 31, 2025, at just 23 years old, Camari’s life was tragically taken. Our family was left heartbroken, forever changed, and searching for meaning in the midst of unimaginable loss. Even in our grief, one truth remains unshakable: Camari’s light will not dim. His legacy is far too powerful, too impactful, and too full of purpose to ever fade. Through the Camari Hunt 4x Foundation, we honor the extraordinary life he lived and ensure that his spirit continues to uplift others. 💙 A Life of Excellence, Leadership, and Heart Camari was a scholar, athlete, mentor, leader, and creative visionary. He was set to graduate from Martin University on May 31, 2025, earning his BSLA degree and completing a journey marked by perseverance, academic achievement, and personal growth. He was also recognized as a Strada Scholar, celebrated for his leadership, community impact, and commitment to education. 💙 A Gifted Athlete & Competitor From a young age, Camari excelled in sports: • Nationally ranked running back • Earned his first Division I football scholarship as a sophomore at Carmel High School • Played football, basketball, baseball, and lacrosse • Continued his athletic career playing collegiate lacrosse at Mount Vernon Nazarene University His discipline, talent, and drive made him a standout on every field he touched. 💙 A Mentor, Leader & Community Builder Camari’s leadership extended far beyond athletics. He served as a Youth Mentor and Coach with Evolve International, empowering young Black boys in: • Leadership • Education • Entrepreneurship • Civic engagement His impact was so profound that Evolve created the Camari Hunt Exemplary Leadership Award in his honor; a testament to the lives he touched and the legacy he left. He also coached youth lacrosse with Eastside Lacrosse, sharing his love for the sport and inspiring the next generation of players. 💙 A Creative Visionary & Emerging Professional Camari was deeply gifted in: • Audio/visual production • Music and video creation • Digital storytelling • Entrepreneurship He completed an Audio Visual & Technology Apprenticeship and was preparing to begin a new role with 40 West Digital, where he would have trained and mentored students entering the field. His creativity, leadership, and passion for technology made this opportunity a perfect fit. 💙 A Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin & Friend Camari loved his family deeply. He was a devoted son, a protective big brother, and a loving uncle. He had a gentle heart for animals, a calm spirit, and a presence that made others feel seen, valued, and supported. 💙 Why We Created the Camari Hunt 4x Foundation Two months after his passing, we created the Camari Hunt 4x Foundation to honor his life and continue the work he naturally embodied uplifting others, creating opportunities, and leading with heart. This foundation is our way of ensuring that: • His leadership lives on • His commitment to service continues • His passion for helping others becomes a pathway for future generations Through this work, we transform our grief into purpose and keep Camari’s legacy alive in the lives of young people across the country.
