Our story
Brian Bruce Jr., affectionately known as "Head" to his family and friends, was someone who left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He was known for his entrepreneurial mindset, resilience, and determination. Brian had a big personality, a generous heart, and a deep love for his family.
Like many people, Brian faced challenges throughout his life, but those experiences are part of what inspires this scholarship. His story is a reminder that a person's circumstances do not define their worth or their potential. We all deserve opportunities to grow, succeed, and create a meaningful legacy.
This scholarship is our family's way of ensuring that Brian's memory lives on by helping others pursue their educational dreams. Every student who receives this award becomes part of that legacy, carrying forward the values of perseverance, ambition, and hope.

Our goal
The Brian Bruce Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund was created to honor the life and legacy of my brother, Brian "Head" Bruce Jr. While Brian's path in life wasn't traditional, he possessed an entrepreneurial spirit, unwavering determination, and a deep love for his family and community. His life reminds us that every person has value, potential, and a story worth remembering.
This fund exists to transform that legacy into opportunity. My goal is to provide financial assistance to students from Peoria, Illinois, who are working hard to pursue higher education despite life's challenges. I believe education has the power to change the trajectory of a person's life, and I want this scholarship to help remove financial barriers for students who are determined to succeed.
The scholarship will begin by awarding two $500 scholarships to deserving students, with a preference for those pursuing business-related fields of study. As the fund grows through the generosity of family, friends, businesses, and community supporters, my vision is to increase both the number and size of the scholarships awarded each year.
More than anything, I want this fund to ensure that Brian's name continues to make a positive impact for generations to come. Every donation, regardless of the amount, represents an investment in a student's future and helps create opportunities that can change lives. Together, we can honor Brian's memory by empowering the next generation of leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals to achieve their dreams.
