Our story

The Blair Harrison Meek Rising Star Wrestling Scholarship was founded to honor Blair Meek by providing a needs-based college scholarship to wrestlers hoping to pursue higher education. Affectionately known to many as “Coach Meek”, Blair Harrison Meek was an educator, a coach, a leader, and well known as a respectable, progressive man with a passion for putting young people on the proper path. Born May 13th, 1992, Blair’s passing shocked his family and community. He leaves a legacy of love, leadership, and laughter. Blair’s dedicated coaching has produced several state champions and fostered opportunities for underserved youth to access opportunities otherwise unavailable to them. We, his family, have established and present to you, The Blair Harrison Meek Rising Star Wrestling Scholarship Fund, in honor of his exceptional contributions to the lives of others. Please consider helping to continue his legacy by supporting his passion for student development, opportunity, and growth. We are forever grateful for Blairs wisdom and service to our society. The impact Coach Meek has made will reverberate through generations to come.

Our goal

Our beloved Blair Harrison Meek was a champion of wrestling and education. He devoted his life to coaching young scholars from underserved communities in wrestling. Wrestling scholarships such as these can open the doors for disadvantaged youth.

Winnie introduced Blair to me for the first time in March 2024 when they visited Nashville. He was so vibrant, comical, psssionate and offered great dialogue. I was so excited and happy for both him and Winnie. I know this is an immensely difficult time given the person Blair was. You all are in my prayers and always know God is close to the brokenhearted.

I knew Blair at Georgetown. He participated in the orientation program that I led, called PEP. I remember him checking in on that first day, all smiles and energy and laughs. He was a natural leader, effortlessly making others feel comfortable and at ease. Blair was a beautiful soul, and I feel blessed to have known him. I remember meeting Blair's mother, too. A kind, strong, caring woman. It's no surprise Blair grew to be such a capable and accomplished young man. Rest in peace, Blair.

We are so sorry to hear about Blair's passing. He had a profound impact on me throughout my time at Georgetown Prep and beyond. He was a lifelong friend that was caring and always there for you in a moment's notice. He will always be in my heart and my memories through jokes and stories we shared.
