Our goal
Increasing the representation of people of color in the medical genetics field is a crucial step in facilitating healthier patient interactions and outcomes among patients who identify as people of color. BIPOC patients often receive substandard care or must endure implicit biases when seeking care, especially when there is a lack of medical professionals with which they can identify. Improving the experiences of people seeking genetic testing or information about their genetic conditions is an important part of making medical care more accessible.
This scholarship aims to improve and diversify the medical field by supporting students of color as they pursue their degrees. Please join me in this effort of growth in the field of medical genetics.
