Aurora Rocha Memorial Scholarship Fund

My mother, Aurora Rocha, was a trail blazer. As a strong and independent woman, she single-handedly raised two daughters and was the sole financial provider for our family. She was determined to create a better life for us, prioritizing education above all. For 20 years, she dedicated herself to the Harris County Hospital District, ensuring we had the chance to participate in after-school community programs like Ripley House. As a result, my sister and I became the first generation in our family to graduate from the University of Houston. We continue to strive to embody her strength and independence. Her legacy lives on through her three grandchildren: Nicolas, a New York University graduate; Sophia, a University of Oregon graduate; and Olivia, a sophomore at the University of Colorado. This scholarship is established to honor her memory, pay it forward, and keep her legacy alive.
