Our goal
Annette Bagnell was a beloved sister, mother, daughter, and friend who passed away at just thirty-nine years old after bravely facing colon cancer.
Even while going through intense chemo treatments, Annette went back to school to teach, only taking time off when she was too sick to eat or leave the house. She loved her students, loved teaching, and brought so much fun to the classroom. Annette not only made learning fun and attainable by linking curriculum concepts to popular TV shows or current events, but she also showed her students respect, and in return, they respected and adored her. She was creative and not afraid to step outside of convention to spark interest and engagement from her students. Her influence continues to echo through a yearly school award set up in her honor and through the students she inspired, many of whom came to show their love and support at her funeral service.
This fund will be used to create a scholarship that aims to honor the memory of Annette Bagnell by supporting students who are stepping into the calling of teaching.
