Purpose
The Andruzzi Magic Scholarship was created to honor the legacy of Tony Andruzzi, a pioneering magician whose artistry, creativity, and dedication to theatrical magic inspired generations. His work pushed the boundaries of what magic could be, blending performance with storytelling, mystery, and a profound respect for the craft. This scholarship fund continues his spirit of innovation by supporting young magicians who seek to follow in those footsteps.
Why This Fund Matters
Magic has always been more than tricks and illusions. At its best, it is storytelling, theater, and a dialogue between performer and audience. Yet, for many young performers, access to proper training, mentorship, and exposure to professional environments is out of reach. Financial barriers often prevent talented individuals from pursuing the very opportunities that would shape their careers.
The Andruzzi Magic Scholarship addresses this need directly. By offering financial assistance, mentorship opportunities, and access to respected institutions in the art of magic, the fund will give recipients the tools they need to grow both as performers and as ambassadors for theatrical storytelling.
Mission
The mission of the Andruzzi Magic Scholarship is to:
Encourage young magicians to explore storytelling and theatrical performance in their magic.
Provide financial support for education, resources, and opportunities in the magical arts.
Create a pathway for emerging magicians to connect with established professionals and communities, ensuring the tradition of storytelling magic thrives for future generations.
Implementation
The first Andruzzi Magic Scholarship Award will be granted on April 17th, 2026 during Poe’s Magic Conference in Baltimore. Applications will be hosted and administered through Bold.org, ensuring transparency and accessibility. The award will include a $6,000 financial grant as well as a unique experience: a visit to the Mystery School, where the recipient can study with some of the world’s greatest magicians and storytellers.
Long-Term Vision
This scholarship is the first step in building an enduring tradition. With the support of the broader magic community, we hope to expand the fund in the future, offering multiple scholarships, mentorship programs, and opportunities for collaboration between young magicians and professionals worldwide. By doing so, the Andruzzi Scholarship will stand as a lasting tribute to Tony Andruzzi’s legacy and as a beacon for the future of magic.
