Our goal

About the Ajit George Legacy Scholarship A Tribute to Perseverance, Purpose, and the American Dream In 1970, Ajit George arrived in the United States from India with a student visa, two suitcases, and just $7 to his name. Like so many immigrants before him, he carried with him not just the weight of uncertainty—but a vision of opportunity, purpose, and possibility. Over the next five decades, Ajit built a life defined not by circumstance, but by character. He pursued his education, earned permanent residency, and later chose to remain a contributing member of American society without formalizing his citizenship. That decision wasn’t due to a lack of love for this country, but rather a deeply personal, thoughtful journey that culminated in 2025—when, after completing the rigorous naturalization process, Ajit proudly became a U.S. citizen. This scholarship honors not just a milestone, but a legacy: A legacy of entrepreneurial spirit that saw Ajit create and lead with vision. A legacy of philanthropy that has touched lives both locally and globally. A legacy of integrity, humility, and steadfast contribution to the greater good. The Ajit George Legacy Scholarship will be awarded to individuals who reflect these same values—those who demonstrate resilience, commitment to personal growth, and a deep desire to give back to their communities. Ajit’s story is a testament to what is possible when courage meets opportunity, and when the American dream is not just imagined—but earned over time with dignity and purpose.
