Aikens Family Scholarship Fund

The Aikens Family Scholarship was born out of a deep desire to give back and create meaningful opportunities for deserving students, thereby alleviating the financial burden of higher education. Our family believes in the transformative power of education because we know firsthand how pivotal the college experience can be. For us, college was more than just academics; it was an essential bridge between childhood and adulthood. It shaped who we are today by teaching us valuable lessons about becoming well-rounded adults, prepared to make meaningful impacts on society and to pave the way forward for others seeking to chart their own paths. Our roots run deep in North Carolina, and we are proud to support two institutions that have profoundly shaped generations of scholars and leaders: North Carolina Central University (NCCU) and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NC A&T). These Historically Black Universities have long been beacons of excellence, resilience, and opportunity, and we are committed to uplifting their missions by investing in the students who carry their legacies forward. The Aikens Family Scholarship is awarded annually to one current student at NCCU and one at NC A&T. It is our way of recognizing students who embody determination, academic commitment, and community-minded leadership. We especially seek to support students striving to stay enrolled, graduate on time, and ultimately use their education to create positive change in their communities. This fund is more than just financial aid; it is a bridge to a better future. A bridge to possibility, a bridge to graduation, and a bridge to dreams that should never be deferred because of tuition bills or the cost of books and housing. Our goal is to grow the Aikens Family Scholarship into a sustainable fund that can expand its reach over time, supporting more students, offering larger awards, and perhaps even creating opportunities for mentorship, internships, and career guidance. We aim to establish a legacy of giving that embodies the values of our family: service, education, perseverance, and community.
