Hi Ms. Tia Dunn, Meeting you at my High Schools JROTC award ceremony was more than just a moment for me—it was something I really needed. I don’t even think you know how much you gave me just by being there and talking to me. You stood in front of me as this strong, beautiful, successful woman, and knowing you were once in JROTC too made me feel like I could get to where you are one day. You felt familiar and real in a way that gave me so much peace and motivation. When you spoke about your scholarship, it wasn’t just advice—it was hope. I’ve been applying to so many scholarships because the truth is, Howard is expensive and life is heavy right now. I’ve been trying to keep it all together, but sometimes it feels like too much. Hearing your story reminded me that I’m not crazy for dreaming big and that it is possible. And I have to say, making that flyer about you earlier this year was truly an honor. I took my time with it because I wanted to get it right. Reading your biography felt like reading a future I want for myself. Finding out you’re an AKA made it even more meaningful, because that’s something I dream of becoming too. To go from designing that flyer to standing in front of you in real life—I don’t even have words for how full circle that felt. Thank you for being exactly who you are. You’ve impacted me more than I know how to explain, and I’m just really grateful God let our paths cross Thank you, Adaeze Nnamdi-Nwasinoke
