Thank you to the skin grip scholarship committee for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this empowering accomplishment. I truly feel supported when I’m outreaching, advocating and helping my community within the field of diabetes when I have supporters to continue helping me follow my dreams. Not only that, the testament of being acknowledged that I pursued my dreams and pushed through all my adversities truly means the most to me as someone who has been living with diabetes for 6 years and has changed my whole life trajectory and career because of my diabetes advocacy passion. I keep being assured on the right path of diabetes advocacy. I will continue to fight for what's right, make diabetes resources accessible and build solidarity within both my community and hopefully more to come. I am so grateful for this scholarship because it will help me to be able to go to college. I am primarily responsible for financing my own education. This scholarship will allow me to pay for some of the costs of college. I want to go to college so I can either work as a physician's assistant or nurse or to do medical/ scientific research. Science and medicine has always been important and interesting to me, and this scholarship will allow me to further my knowledge and use it to help other people.
