Dear Shemesh-lomask, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for selecting me as a recipient of the Dr. Michal Lomask Memorial Scholarship. I’m truly honored by this recognition, and I am especially humbled to be a part of Dr. Lomask’s legacy. This scholarship eases the financial challenges my family and I face, allowing me to start my studies at Rice University with greater focus and hope. Your support means I can continue building toward my dream of becoming a physician who advocates for accessible health solutions for Black and Brown women, both here in Houston and around the world. As a first-generation Nigerian-American and someone who has overcome homelessness and adversity, this opportunity is profoundly meaningful. I’m inspired by Dr. Lomask’s dedication to advancing science education in Connecticut and her passion for empowering both students and teachers. I’m glad to have learned about Dr. Michal Lomask through this scholarship, and her commitment to education and equity motivates me to use my own journey to uplift others.
