The Yaa Asantewaa Scholarship Fund exists to advance social mobility for Black women by reducing the financial barriers that limit their access to and success in graduate education. Rooted in the legacy of resilience and leadership embodied by Yaa Asantewaa, our mission is to provide tuition-focused support that directly addresses the disproportionate education debt burden Black women face when pursuing advanced degrees. We uplift scholars committed to leadership in social work, public health, STEM, and social justice—especially those who have experienced foster care or adoption—and affirm their potential to transform their lives, communities, and fields.
