My mother, Aurora Rocha, was a trailblazer, determined to create a better life for us where education was a priority. As a result, my sister and I became the first generation in our family to graduate from U of H. Her legacy lives on through her three grandchildren: Nicolas, graduate of NYU; Sophia, graduate of the University of Oregon; and Olivia, sophomore at the University of Colorado. This scholarship is established to honor her memory, pay it forward, and keep her legacy alive.
