I am writing to thank you for the very generous $1,000 scholarship. This award means so much to me and will help me in unbelievable ways to achieve my educational and professional goals. I do not start my graduate studies for another several months, but knowing that I will begin school with some of the financial burden relieved allows me to look forward to my studies even more. By investing in my education, I am confident that the education I gain at Johns Hopkins University will help me help thousands of people also affected by a chronic illness. I cannot thank you enough!

Dear Chronic Boss Collective, I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for the scholarship I have been awarded for being an entrepreneur with an autoimmune disease. As someone who has faced numerous challenges due to my health condition, this recognition means the world to me and has given me a renewed sense of motivation and validation. Living with an autoimmune disease has not been easy, but it has taught me the value of resilience and perseverance. Despite the physical and mental challenges I face on a daily basis, I have never let them deter me from pursuing my dreams of entrepreneurship. This scholarship is a testament to the fact that my hard work and determination have not gone unnoticed, and it serves as a reminder to keep pushing forward no matter what obstacles come my way. Furthermore, the financial support provided by this scholarship will undoubtedly make a significant difference in my life as I continue to build my business. It will help alleviate some of the financial burdens that comes with managing a chronic illness while also pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors. This support will allow me to invest in my business and further develop the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed. Once again, I am truly grateful for this opportunity and appreciate the belief that the scholarship committee has placed in me. I promise to continue working hard and using this opportunity to make a positive impact in the world of entrepreneurship. Thank you for your generosity and support. Sincerely, Shannon Dyson

Thank for for the opportunity to becoming a finalist for your scholarship and the opportunity to tell my story. I find it difficult to express how overwhelming is it to live with chronic illness that requires such extensive medical care. You and your organization provided me an opportunity to speak to people that understand. You understand my day-to-day struggles, as well as those that I will face in the future. Again, I thank you for your generosity and acknowledgment.

Being a winner for this scholarship would mean so much to me on behalf of all the women who are living with chronic, embarrassing, debilitating conditions who think they can longer achieve what they used to - or what’s more, reach NEW and BIGGER goals despite having to battle chronic health issues. Every day I raise awareness and share posts on social media, initiate conversations, and do research to keep myself informed on what can be done to manage disease and eventually find a more permanent treatment. I also support advocacy change for equitable and increased access to public bathrooms and healthcare, both in my personal life and at work as a case manager for immigrants seeking care and assistance.
