MISSION: To support the educational aspirations of adults aged (18 - 100) through need-based scholarships and grants for accredited college, certification, trade school and life-long learning programs. We strive to remove financial barriers, promote literacy, and encourage personal and professional development. Founded by Dr. Naomi DeShields Sims, the scholarship is one important step towards enabling students to seek life-long learning and achieve their highest potential. From a very young age, Dr. Sims lost both parents, but it was her mother’s strong belief in education that encouraged her to continue with school, no matter the circumstances or life’s challenges. Dr. Sims is an accomplished business leader and author with a Doctorate in Business Administration. Beyond her leadership experience in business, Dr. Sims is deeply passionate about empowering others through literacy. She is a certified ESL trainer and financial literacy coach, dedicated to helping people improve their reading skills and financial awareness. Her life experiences prove that education combined with financial literacy is a direct link toward building and improving better communities and strengthening family sustainability. It begins with one person at a time.
