It means a great deal to me to receive this recognition, and I’m honored to carry on Michael Rudometkin’s legacy through this scholarship. This generous support eases the financial pressures of college, giving me more freedom to focus on my studies and community involvement. Coming from a low-income background, your investment in my future allows me to pursue my education at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and continue my work in journalism and public relations without overwhelming debt. I’m passionate about using my voice to shed light on important community issues and tell the stories that matter most—especially for those who are often unheard. My time writing for the Modesto View showed me how powerful storytelling can be in making a difference. Thanks to your generosity, I’m able to keep moving toward my goal of becoming a strong advocate for others through my writing. Learning about Michael’s remarkable dedication to helping others and making meaningful connections inspires me to follow in his footsteps.
