Having scholarships and other opportunities like Pell Grants to avoid crushing student loans can make a world of difference. I struggled to make it from a VERY poor child in Shoshone County Idaho to a very successful government employee. And I couldn't have done that without help along the way. That's my goal. Just to lend a hand in the name of my hardworking grandfather who struggled and worked his ass off to provide for his 5 children and sometimes his grandchildren.
Mission
My goal is to help low-income students from the small community where I grew up take the next step in their education, whether that be community college, 4 year university, or vocational training.
Like many in that area, I came from a very poor family and hope to help the less fortunate continue learning and working hard to put themselves in a better position in the future all while honoring my grandfather for his hard work and determination in raising his 5 children and often helping raise his grandchildren along the way.
