Megen Porter, a Campbell descendant, is an artist from Atlanta, Georgia. Her art confronts the white legacy of enslavers and the confederacy. When dealing with America's violent history, she asks the white community to understand their own inherited racism, and how to confront the truth that is whiteness. The CIILS Foundation's mission is to uplift people in the black and native marginalized communities. Giving scholarships is one way to address the inadequacies created through slavery and native dispossession, though it in no way can make up for the years of struggle in those communities.
