The I Hope You Dance Scholarship was created to help make dance training possible for talented young people who may not otherwise have the financial means to pursue their dreams to their fullest capacity. Each year, the I Hope You Dance Scholarship will be awarded to a low-income teen, who is passionate about dance and wants to pursue it professionally, to help afford costs related to professional intensives, dance class tuition, and necessary supplies such as dance shoes and costuming. The scholarship will be funded through monthly dance classes taught on a volunteer basis, with 100% of entry fees going directly to the scholarship fund via Bold.org. Bringing people together to dance, learn, and pay it forward to the next generation of dancers. Created by myself, who is a current full time professional performer from a small rural area that grew up experiencing the difficulties and sacrifices necessary to have a career in the performing arts, but also having experienced the benefits of community fundraising support and scholarships.
