Dear Wendy Alders Cartland Scholarship Committee, I am incredibly grateful to be selected as a recipient of the Wendy Alders Cartland Scholarship. This generous support will allow me to continue my studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where I am pursuing a Master of Arts in Arts Administration and Policy. It is a true honor to receive a scholarship that reflects Wendy’s commitment to mentorship and uplifting under-resourced communities through the arts. As someone passionate about the power of the visual arts to transform lives, I am deeply inspired by Wendy’s dedication to providing opportunities for young people to pursue their creative dreams. Throughout my career, I have worked to combine my love for art with meaningful community impact, and this scholarship will enable me to expand these efforts. With this support, I am excited to continue my work in the visual arts by contributing to programs that give back to youth in under-resourced communities. I am committed to using my education and experience to develop initiatives that create accessible pathways for young people, particularly those from marginalized backgrounds, to engage with and pursue careers in the arts. Wendy’s legacy will guide my efforts as I work toward fostering the next generation of artists and cultural leaders. Thank you again for this incredible opportunity and for the continued support of students like myself. I look forward to paying this generosity forward through my work in the arts. Sincerely, Emilia Herrera Charpentier Master of Arts in Arts Administration and Policy School of the Art Institute of Chicago
