Dear Miss Julia, I’m deeply grateful to be chosen as a recipient of the Students with Misophonia Scholarship. Living with misophonia means navigating challenges that are often invisible to others, and receiving this award feels like an acknowledgment not just of my academics, but of the daily perseverance it takes to keep moving toward my dreams. At Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, I’m studying Aerospace Engineering with a focus on rocket propulsion, and my ultimate goal is to become an astronaut. I spend much of my time in training environments that prepare me for that path - from high-G to zero-G simulations, water survival exercises, and even skydiving. Outside of aerospace, I’m dedicated to marine conservation and lead a scuba diving club, passions that ground me as much as they challenge me. This is the first scholarship I win after months of sent applications. Your generosity lightens the financial burden of this journey, giving me the freedom to fully commit to my education, research, and hands-on experiences. More than that, it’s a reminder that there are people who believe in the potential of students who live with conditions like mine. That belief fuels my determination to keep pushing forward and to one day give back by inspiring others who face similar obstacles.
