The Philip J. Saviano Memorial Scholarship was founded to honor Phil Saviano and recognize his contributions to ending clergy abuse and helping those harmed move past their trauma and lead more productive lives (see philsaviano.com). The scholarship's objectives are: To reward Douglas, Massachusetts graduating students who have demonstrated excellence in high school studies of science, technology, engineering and/or math subjects (STEM); To encourage these students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) by seeking four-year college degrees in these or related programs; To grant additional consideration to those who have more urgent financial challenges.
