Dear James, I'm truly grateful for being selected as a recipient of the James B. McCleary Music Scholarship. It means so much to be recognized and supported in my passion for music, especially as someone who has dedicated their life to the art since early childhood. This generous scholarship eases the financial challenges that often come with pursuing a music degree, allowing me to focus more deeply on both my coursework and creative projects. The support motivates me to push further—whether it's through late-night study sessions in jazz theory, honing my ear in music dictation, or collaborating with fellow musicians in and out of the classroom. As the first in my family to attend college, this opportunity validates the hard work and sacrifices that have shaped my journey so far. I continue to seek out new experiences, from internships at recording studios to learning from seasoned musicians, all with the goal of excelling as both a student and an artist. I'm honored to carry on James B. McCleary's legacy through this scholarship, and I truly appreciate your commitment to helping students like me thrive in the music field.
