As a woman of color in genetic counseling, I recognize on a daily basis the need for an increased number of people of color to serve patients and families. The ability to serve patients who have shared similar cultural experiences and languages is invaluable to a genetic counseling session. I am excited about the growth in this field and what can be accomplished in the future with a greater level of diversity in service.
