Dear Ivy, I'm truly grateful to be chosen as a recipient of the Aaryn Railyn King Foundation Scholarship. It means so much to me to be recognized in this way, and I'm honored to carry on Aaryn Railyn King's legacy through this scholarship. This support eases a significant financial challenge, allowing me to focus even more on my studies and extracurricular activities. As a 10th grader determined to become a registered nurse, I plan to dedicate myself to caring for children in hospital settings like the NICU at UF Health in Gainesville. This scholarship motivates me to keep improving my GPA and keep working toward my goal of earning an ADN and eventually a BSN, so I can provide compassionate care for young patients and their families. Knowing that this scholarship celebrates Aaryn's passion for education inspires me to strive harder, and your generosity encourages me to help others the way you are helping me. First, I want to say thank you so much! Thank you, thank you, thank you. To wake up knowing I won a scholarship after being denied multiple times is truly a blessing. At the beginning of my freshman fall semester, my tuition was too much for me and my family to handle, leading to me having to take out loans. This scholarship will help me pay that loan off. Thank you, Jesus. I love being asked why I want nursing to be my career choice; it gives me a chance to finally be heard, to give knowledge of how many black people aren't fairly treated in the healthcare system, and to build change one step at another.
