I am so honored to receive this scholarship in honor of Michele L. Durant. When I read her story, her passion and tenacious pursuit of education resonated with my own journey. As I lost my mother 2 months before starting medical school, I understand how the unexpected loss of a loved one can feel detrimental to their family. Thank you for seeing my passion through my essay submission. This award will allow me to cover my housing and other necessities this coming semester as I pursue my dreams.
