Dear Ginger, I want to express my heartfelt thanks for selecting me as the recipient of the Raise Me Up to DO GOOD Scholarship. It truly means a great deal to be recognized in this way. Your support gives me the added confidence and encouragement to keep moving forward with my passion for bringing joy to others. This scholarship lightens the financial pressure of pursuing my education, allowing me to also fulfill my dream of being able to play college golf. Knowing I have your belief in my potential motivates me to continue reaching more seniors with small acts of kindness and through my non-profit Socks4Seniors. Growing up, my parents instilled in me the importance of making a positive difference, and their influence shapes everything I do. Whether I'm mailing colorful socks or writing letters to new penpals in assisted living homes, I see firsthand how simple gestures can brighten someone’s day. With your generosity, I’m able to keep expanding this mission and work toward my goal of reaching all 50 states by the end of the year. Your commitment to helping students like me is truly inspiring. I’m grateful not just for the financial support, but for the encouragement to continue leading with compassion and purpose. Thank you for your kindness and belief in my dreams. Thank you, Elle Gianelli

Dear Ms. Ginger Zappa, I am writing to express my DEEPEST gratitude for selecting me as a recipient of the Raise Me Up to DO GOOD Scholarship. As a student raised in a single-parent household by my great-grandmother, this award is a recognition of the love, strength, and resilience that shaped who I am today. My guardian, who stepped in to raise me when I was four years old, has shown me what it means to lead with grace, sacrifice, and selflessness. Her example has not only kept me grounded, but it has also fueled my passion for justice, civic leadership, and community care. With your support, I will be attending Northwestern University this fall, where I plan to major in political science with the goal of becoming a civil rights attorney, ultimately cutting down the gap in my financial aid letter. This scholarship reminds me that the values I was raised with such as integrity, compassion, and purpose, matter. I’m committed to using my talents to advocate for underrepresented communities, challenge unjust systems, and uplift the voices too often ignored. Thank you for investing in me and in a future built on doing good. With sincere appreciation, Josiah Hankerson
