N. Angel Barrett is the Founder/CEO of the Gifted Scholars Leadership Program, which she founded as part of her commitment to giving back and helping her community. The nonprofit targets girls of color living in underserved communities, and seeks to close the racial education gap, by eliminating some of the financial burdens associated with gaining access, thriving, and graduating from college. In honor of her beloved brother, Jeffrey, who was a nurse for 30+ years, the scholarship was created to assist nursing students and inspire more African American females to consider a nursing career.
