Purpose/Intent: The Dorothy Bell Vereen Moore Scholarship Fund was established to honor the life and achievements of our late grandmother, a paragon of hard work, faith, and moral integrity. She believed that her children and grandchildren could do anything through hard work, faith and being of good moral judgement. Established by Corey and Tarik Gause, proud North Myrtle Beach High School alumni and Dorothy’s grandsons, this scholarship is a testament to her enduring influence. Corey, a 1992 Chief graduate serving as a Colonel in the Air Force, and Tarik, a 1994 Chief graduate and corporate lawyer, are eager to give back to their community and honor their grandmother’s memory by aiding the educational journey of African American students from their alma mater.
