Mission

The Thomas Family have always been givers and embodied the spirit of giving. We lost our son A1C Kenyada Me'Chon Thomas at the age of 20 on August 17, 2019 while serving in the United States Air Force. Kenyada or "Yadi" as we called him was very kind and compassionate. We want to continue in his legacy of kindness and compassion. Our goal is to provide scholarships for underserved high school seniors entering college while encouraging them to be kind just like Kenyada.

I can't describe the excitement and joy I felt opening my email today. It will be my first ever scholarship on Bold.org and my second ever awarded. I have submitted countless applications only to be turned down, but I'm glad I kept up my hope. I am also very grateful for the opportunity to speak on such a very deep and saddening topic and to have had my opinions acknowledged. I have experienced homelessness myself and it's nothing to glorify. Thank you so much for this opportunity and gift. Know that the Lord re-pays ten fold. <3 -Alexis Colvin

Being a winner to me is not signified by trophies or awards. To me what encompasses a winner is their mentality. Even if I were not to win this award, I have won! I won the opportunity to communicate with an amazing doner who recognized me as someone worthy of an amazing opportunity. Thank you so much! Have a blessed rest of your year.

Thank you, Cermonia Thomas, for acknowledging me as a finalist recipient of the Kenyada Me'Chon Thomas Legacy Scholarship. As I enter college, I will continue to create a paradigm shift among those I meet. Through kindness and compassion, I will touch the hearts of my colleagues and facilitators while reaching my goal of becoming an educator. I am so thankful for your support.
