Mission

On May 29, 2024, at age 24, Payton suffered a heat stroke and went into acute cardiac arrest while on his job site. This scholarship has been created to keep the memory of Payton S. Osborn alive and honor him by supporting students that follow in his footsteps. Too often, students who are interested in vocational fields are met with little support. With very few scholarships offered for paths in the trades, it can be difficult for students to come up with the financial resources they need to embark on their career goals and with this scholarship we hope to help get those students off to a better start.

Dear Family and Friends of Payton, I'm sincerely grateful to be chosen as the recipient of the Payton S. Osborn Memorial Scholarship. Learning about Payton's life and the legacy he left behind fills me with both humility and inspiration, and I'm honored to carry on Payton S. Osborn’s legacy through this scholarship. This generous support makes a real difference for me as I pursue a career in the trades. By easing the financial challenges of my education, your kindness allows me to focus on developing my skills and dedicating myself to becoming the best tradesperson I can be. The encouragement I feel from receiving this scholarship motivates me even further to succeed and set a strong example for others considering a similar path. As someone passionate about building a meaningful career in a vocational field, I understand how rare support like this can be. Your commitment to honoring Payton’s memory by uplifting students like me is truly moving, and I’m inspired by your dedication to helping others follow in his footsteps. Thank you for your compassion and your belief in my future. I hope to carry forward the spirit of generosity and perseverance that this scholarship represents. Thank you, Jerry Warren
