We, the children and grandchildren of Joe Ella Brown Burton have accepted the torch she passed to us, and vowed to do our part in making education available to all. Like her, we believe that a student's potential to fulfill their dreams should never be determined by their present station in life. Ambition, drive, determination, dedication, academic excellence, talent and community service should be encouraged and rewarded in all students. Therefore, as the descendants of a vintage influencer, it is our mission to continue her legacy as one who believed that if you desire an education it should be yours for the asking.
