Mission
Some people find their calling in a classroom. I found mine in questions that wouldn't leave me alone, why cells behave the way they do, why some traits skip generations, why certain diseases remain invisible even as they reshape lives. Those questions became my compass.
I'm a rising senior at the University of Washington studying Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. From transgenerational epigenetic inheritance in C. elegans at Washington University School of Medicine, to meiotic drive genetics in Drosophila at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, to now investigating antiviral protein localization in virology, I’ve learned that science isn't a destination. It's a series of doors, each one opened by curiosity and stubbornness in equal measure.
I've presented this work three years running at the UW Undergraduate Research Symposium and the Genetics Society of America. This summer, I'm joining Genentech as an intern, a milestone that reminds me how much the right support can transform a trajectory. Every opportunity I've had has been someone paying it forward. Now it's my turn. Paying it forward means making science accessible to everyone. I built ResearchUnlocked, an app that translates complex research into clear, everyday language because no one should hit a wall of jargon when searching for answers about their own health or world.
I'm looking for someone who feels the gap between science and society and refuses to look away. Download ResearchUnlocked on the App Store. Find me at @aditi_does_science. Let's close the gap together
