WPI is an excellent STEM school. The 7-week terms allow students to focus on 3 courses at a time and to progress through course sequences quickly. However, expectations are very high, and they can be incredibly demanding. There are research, work, and internship opportunities for students. If you are serious about school, the school will probably be a good fit for you.
The WPI Plan is very intense and demanding, but also very rewarding. Every student has a chance to study abroad during their IQP.
I enjoyed how the students support one another. It's a relatively small school so you know the majority of your classmates.
The professors and staff members seem to not actually care about the students but rather pretend they care in order to get paid.
WPI classes go fast. For me, having three classes at a time but finishing them in half the time works much better than having six classes at once.
If you have a bad professor, your term will be very stressful. Even though the term is only seven weeks, that one professor is still in charge of one-third of your classes.
