I haven't experienced a lot at WSU so I don't feel super comfortable saying a lot. I will say that the classes are a lot bigger so everything feels more streamlined.
Classes are bigger.
I like how there are different student clubs for different kinds of students to join.
I don't like how minority students aren't advocated for by all faculty/staff.
I am just starting my Accelerated Nursing Program at Wichita and I am so excited about the opportunity! It is a 13-month program to earn your BSN which is almost unheard of! Teachers are fun and witty and really care about your success.
It was hard to find affordable, safe, and clean housing off campus but that has to deal more with Wichita itself than the university.
I love the size, even my lecture hall classes had a maximum of 100 students in them, but most of my classes had between 9 and 20 people which made it very easy to have real relationships with the professors so they could teach you better. Plus, my professors have all been willing to work with me rather than just say I should have done better and then move on; they care about you actually learning what you are here to learn rather than strictly being here to earn some money.
It is still currently a commuter school so a lot of people live off-campus, but that is mostly it. Sometimes the dining hall was really off but there are enough other options on campus that it did not bother me an extreme amount.
I have been attending Wichita State University for the past two years and I have enjoyed every minute of it. Yes, it was hard, there were lots of tears involved on my end but that is just a part of life.
The expenses.
