It is a good school with great in-state tuition. It is really nice if you plan on going to grad school somewhere else and you're looking for a good school to get your undergrad degree. The dining hall is awful but the rest of the campus food is alright.
The food, Greek life, the process of getting on-campus housing are a little confusing
An amazing town and it is close to so many major cities, and always something to do. Not too big, but too big. I meet someone new almost every day yet see my friends around campus and town all the time.
Housing can be very expensive because it is in such a nice town.
I enjoyed how accessible support services were when you needed them- like tutoring, work-study, office hours with Professors, etc. I also liked the online portal they used (D2L- desire to learn), it was very easy to navigate.
The food the campus has to offer. Downtown West Chester offers decent restaurants- but no one wants to spend money on going out weekly.
I loved my experience at West Chester University. Since it is a PASSHE state school, tuition is not as expensive as some other colleges. There are plenty of clubs and student organizations as well as events even on the weekends. The professors in the history department want you to succeed and are willing to work with you. If you are able to, I recommend applying for an apartment on North Campus. I lived in a two-floor apartment with two other girls, and it was a much more comfortable experience than the regular single-room dorms.
The single-room dorms are small and can be a terrible experience if you do not get along with your roommate. It can be hard to make friends if you are a transfer student. Make sure you go in person if you have any issues with departments or offices.
I can definitely vouch that West Chester University is not only about academics and sports but this school gets everyone involved and anything from volunteering to get ready for the job field.
Honestly there is nothing I didn’t like about the school. If anything I wish the campus was a little bit bigger and not all spread out too much.
My first-year experience has been great so far. The professors are all awesome so far.
