WHAT I LIKED

I love the atmosphere at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. It is not too small a town but also not too big at the same time. All professors that I have encountered so far in my education are always willing to help out when necessary. The students and staff are awesome.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

What I did not like about the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is the food. The dining halls are nice but the food will go right through you, it takes some getting used to.

WHAT I LIKED

Great communities if you talk with your classmates and professors.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

If the weather is bad, they do not cancel a class. They haven't fired a bigot, James Pesta, who spews homophobia and transphobia.

WHAT I LIKED

I like how there are many organizations of all sorts for students join. By joining one you can make many friends when you feel alone. Just how I did until I joined some organizations. All the buildings are close by so it's not too far of a walk from one end of the campus to the other. They also have so many classes to choose from depending on what you plan to major in and other general education classes. They also have so many resources to help you succeed like tutors, math labs, SI's sessions and many friendly advisors.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

I wasn't as prepared to start a new chapter my first semester. I felt alone and depressed. Sure I had 2-3 people I knew from high school there as well but they weren't my friends and family from back home. Winter also gives me seasonal depression due to losing a loved one around that time so I felt lonely. I never left my dorm and slowly start not going to classes as I had no friends and had no motivation. And my roommate was never there so I felt truly alone in a new place. But that all changed my second semester. Yes, college can be more difficult than I imagined but as long as I try not to stay at my dorm for too long, go to classes, do my homework/projects on time, study, and go to as many of the organization meetings I know I can get through this.

What I liked most was their Project Success Program.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

It is a party college, but pick a good dorm and you won’t be bothered much by noise.
