The atmosphere at the University of San Francisco is a nice mix of city and suburban life. Not much of a party school but there are still lots of fun things to do outside of going to classes.
The school itself is not the best at keeping its word when it comes to activism and social events.
The people, the professors, and the atmosphere are amazing. The people I’ve met here are some of the best people I’ve ever met. Most people are artists and people who want to create and care for you. Most of the professors really care about teaching and if you show any interest in their subject, they will open up their vast world of knowledge. As an artist, I feel appreciated by this school 50% of the time. When I do feel supported, it’s wonderful.
The problems come with the major programs and some of the old white professors who are very outdated in their ways of teaching. There are also not enough professors of color in the Performing Arts and Social Justice major. It seems like the professors in the major don’t even care about social justice so that’s a huge problem!
Professors are very passionate about teaching and willing to help if needed
Difficult to meet people because many events were on Zoom
I like that it is in the city of San Francisco. I also like all the resources available and job opportunities and above all the well-equipped modern studying spaces.
The dorms are very outdated and there is very little maintenance. The school cafe closes too early too.
