The University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez campus is hands down the best university for engineering. The social life is wonderful on campus, you get to meet so many people with the same interests as you. The opportunities you get can go from assistant in professor's research to full internships, Co-op, and full-time jobs in big companies. The education you get is priceless, UPRM fully prepares you for the working industry.
Even though the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez education is one of the best sometimes professors and their classes can get really challenging. Especially if you have not prepared for them beforehand. It is important to have studying habits and prepare yourself. Do not expect the professor to give you all the answers. If you need more support you can go after class hours and talk to your professor or seek the university's tutoring program.
The University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez has been my home for three years and I have never had a complaint about this university. It is truly very good, a comfortable place to be with when also taking amazing classes out of great curriculums.
There are only dorms on campus available for athletes.
In just my first year of college, I've already learned so much and I've loved the learning experience in the Business Administration faculty. The university has a great environment with a variety of people from different cities and countries who all bring different experiences, points of view, and cultures to the table. Social life is another fantastic aspect if you embrace it. Personally, I have met a great amount of new, fun, diverse people who have shown me many new experiences and an amazing time. I feel that overall the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez is a fantastic university that offers a unique culture and experience that truly can only be found right here.
Many of the professors at the university are very good and will ensure that you learn as much as you allow them to teach you. However, this is unfortunately not the case with all of them. Some professors aren't great at teaching or can be unjustly subjective in their evaluations.
UPRM is a renowned Engineering university in Puerto Rico for a reason. This university offers a great quality of teachers and job opportunities. There are annual job fairs. The environment and social life are good too. Tuition costs are very reasonable, which makes this a great university for low-income household students.
Students should be aware that technological resources are limited in this university. Other than that, it is an amazing experience.
One of the best things about the campus is the degree of expertise of the professors and instructors. This was one of the main reasons I chose to enter this campus. For me, it was important that I could count on many skilled and notorious professors during my bachelor's, and since I entered, I have encountered many like this. Such people make you think and become sharper in terms of your analysis and learning skills.
I could not really say I don't like something about this university. If anything, I would say that sometimes protests due to administration issues can become quite troublesome. Yet, there is not much I don't like about it.
It was a great experience!
Not complete education or not many biomedical classes.
