I love the location of the school, It is directly in the middle of a nice and medium to the large sized urban downtown area and the beach. There is always something to be doing here! As for the school itself, I love how much UNCW cares about sustainability and its environmental impact!
The food on campus is not always the best.
The campus atmosphere combines all things academic with a relaxed, beach-town vibe that makes walking the campus enjoyable. I found the professors to be knowledgeable, fair, and helpful. It's ultimately going to be what you make of it -- what you put in is what you'll get out.
Parking and getting around campus can be a bit tricky at times. Try to plan your schedule so you don't have to walk up and down Chancellor's Walk every other class (like I did for two semesters).
The atmosphere.
Beware hurricane warnings.
There are a few things that I particularly like and enjoy about UNCW. First, the social life is amazing. I have met some of the best people at UNCW and the social activities available are great. Second, the campus is wonderful, it is fairly traditional. Third, well, many people will say this about UNCW as a huge perk. The beach!!! We all love the beach.
I really do not like the dining halls. I find myself and many others getting food off-campus. Many times students get food poisoning often, myself included have gotten it two or three times within my first year. As well as this, the dining hours are NOT consistent. So sometimes you can be left without. On another note, I have also found that UNCW is not very diverse within its student population.
