I love the University of Memphis because of the many activities on campus, which gives students many chances to interact with other students with different backgrounds.
The University of Memphis provides an excellent education at an affordable price. This college is an amazing choice if you are seeking to complete your undergrad degree quickly while keeping student debt under control.
WHAT I didn’t LIKE
One thing to keep in mind is that the student class of the school is very large, so the administrative delays should be kept in mind when communicating with staff or faculty. This is not exactly a negative attribute, but a logistical inevitability that prospective and current students should be aware of.
I enjoy my time at the University. The school has many degree programs and will work with students on disabilities, financial needs and other situations. There is a counseling center, as well as many available programs to help students in need. I have used some of these programs.
WHAT I didn’t LIKE
I don't enjoy the mandatory gen ed classes that don't apply to your degree. I also don't enjoy the cost of attendance. I am a lower income student, a commuter and non traditional. I am married and I have to work full time just to make my rent and bills. I have maxed my student loans due to medical problems interfering with my GPA due to retaking many of my gen ed classes. I am having to look at outside sources of financial aid and it becomes difficult with my lower GPA due to my medical issues.
Most of my professors really care about my success, especially in the accounting courses! I love going to the BCM to hang out and make friends. This campus and city are enjoyable and easy to make friends in.
WHAT I didn’t LIKE
It is a smaller campus, which is good for me, but may not be for everyone.
The University of Memphis is an awesome school if you're looking for urban school life. The University of Memphis is a small campus and is easy to navigate. The only downside is that Memphis is not a college town. Everything that is fun is not near the school. So you'd have to explore by driving everywhere.
