WHAT I LIKED

The community at UC Davis is very constructive and cooperative. The staff are generally fair and supportive. UC Davis provides challenging academics, but does not cultivate a culture of over-working like ones I've seen at other universities.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

There isn't much that I don't like about Davis, but I would like to see Davis providing more notice before changing contracts, such as the meal plan contracts.

WHAT I LIKED

I loved the learning-centric culture of UC Davis. The campus is spacious and lovely. There is no shortage of resources for struggling students, and the faculty is top-notch. On the whole, students are very friendly and eager learners. The admissions department will also go above and beyond to ensure that financial barriers do not impede anyone's ability to attend UC Davis.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

I would like to see less construction on campus. In the last few years, there seems to be this indoctrination of a "constantly expanding and updating to campus".

WHAT I LIKED

UC Davis is the perfect environment for those seeking an escapism from the busy and fast-paced life. With the small city life, you are able to form stronger friendships, bike to downtown, and the classes are enjoyable and led by wonderful professors and staff.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

Housing can be expensive and the meal plan as well. As someone financially struggling, it was hard to come up with money to pay for those fees.

WHAT I LIKED

The community is very friendly. Students genuinely care for each other and are not trying to tear each other down to keep themselves up. The greenery offers a positive environment and the Davis cows are always great to pet.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

There is too much attention towards hierarchy where administration and/or professors limit you with what you can and can't do outside of everyday coursework.

WHAT I LIKED

I love the opportunities it offers to students pursuing careers in STEM, the many research labs you can take part in, the focus on sustainability and cultural awareness, and the resources it offers for students who are first-gen.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

I would suggest not paying for the meal plan if you have access to a kitchen and appliances because the meal plan is expensive and not worth it if you don’t eat every meal there.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE
