These schools are similar to The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in key aspects like size, setting, and academics.
100% of students
As someone who leans towards being more shy, I like how tiny and cozy UTRGV is. It helps me not feel so overwhelmed when being around people all day since it is a much smaller campus. Not only that but since it is a smaller campus, walking distances are perfect.
In my opinion, this university has helped a lot in my social life. In addition, it is one of the best universities in Texas in all aspects. I would recommend 100%
Just the paperwork gets slow.
This university has helped me grow as a person by gaining experience and interacting with different types of people with different types of major plans.
I feel that the need for more extra activities for the students to have to participate in that are more local to the Brownsville area.
UTRGV is a campus full of diversity and opportunity. While being one of the most affordable colleges in Texas, the university caters to low-income Hispanic families in the Rio Grande Valley. During my time here, UTRGV has offered many relief packages that can help a student with financial aid. If you wish to attend a school that celebrates its local community, I highly recommend UTRGV.
Sometimes it can be difficult to receive help, like scheduling an advising appointment.
I grew up in the RGV so I'm comfortable with the weather. Teachers are good and facilities are clean. Good affordable place to get an expensive piece of paper.
Not bike-friendly enough.
I think that UTRGV is a great university that has helped me learn more about what I want to be in the future. I was scared of the transition from high school to college, but it has been amazing.
I think that it is important to understand that things may not always go as expected and that is okay. This university is a great environment that will make you feel comfortable if you are feeling lost or discouraged. All the people I have met have been great.
