They care about your opinions and are willing to help. They don't dismiss your worries and opinions, they listen and find the best way to help you. I have had always a good experience when needing help from staff.

WHAT I LIKED

I loved the small-campus, family feel! I grew up in a small town so I wasn't ready to be one of 100,000 students.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

The class choices are slightly limited but it worked for me.

WHAT I LIKED

In my experience in the psychology department, all the professors are genuine and care about students' futures. I have had some club involvement but the communication needs to improve in order to provide more opportunities for involvement from students. First-generation students should ask plenty of questions about scholarship opportunities and all related information. Ask plenty of questions and look for resources everywhere you can. In general, you are responsible for yourself and your future, therefore doing all you can to help ease your stresses is the best you can do via searching for various resources. Always do self-care. Always call and ask for up-to-date paperwork and go to your advisor or seek those that can help find the answers to your questions. Reviewing all website information is strongly recommended. Online courses are as time-consuming as face-to-face. Stay involved and committed. The buildings have had major renovations, but there are still locations that need more improvement. The signages the school has put up are of great help when not knowing where to go. There are Starbucks and small stores on campus you can purchase small snacks, salads, sandwiches, or drinks in case you need energy or forget to eat, which is great.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

Not many healthy options are available for those that have late-night classes, make sure you eat or bring your snacks. There are not a lot of places to just relax, take a nap, or just be in between classes. There are places where you can sit, but not a lot of in-closed spaces. Also, not a lot of shaded places outside for those who wish to sit outside during nice days.
