The University of Alabama was a scary place for me after committing to attend. Once arriving and beginning classes that all changed, the overall feeling within the University was warm and welcoming. After joining a sorority and meeting more people I realized that I made the correct decision to attend.
Future students should be prepared for the size of the University. It can be a little daunting at first.
It is such a large university so there are loads of opportunities for every student! All of my professors really cared about their students and the classes were great! You can really tailor your college experience to fit your needs.
Don't think that Greek Life is the only way to be involved socially! There are loads of clubs and organizations outside of that.
I met some incredibly cool people through my sorority and classes. The football culture was also super fun.
A lot of my classes were large, and that allowed me to sink into the back and not participate. I didn't challenge myself enough in that regard.
I love the campus, I think it's beautiful and i genuinely enjoy walking to my classes. I also am part of such a wonderful program with amazing teachers that have made school even better.
The parking situation is really poor, it is quite expensive to acquire a parking pass, and to park on campus without a pass you have to park in pay to park spots that are so limited there are days when you can't find a single spot.
I've loved attending school here!
In the college of engineering, some professors are just not as invested in their students as they are in their research.
I love the campus, the atmosphere, the nightlife, and the opportunities on campus. The educators are amazing.
Parking is crazy, it's very expensive, food/living facilities are okay. The chemistry and math departments aren't great.
