WHAT I LIKED

I have enjoyed my time here at SUNY Canton. Their vet tech program is fantastic, though I must be honest, at times a little intense and you must be prepared to put in a lot of work. The campus in it is beautiful, especially in fall and winter, and there has not been a time where I have felt unsafe. The dining halls are great, and their food is pretty good too.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

The veterinary technology program is very rigorous, so try not to leave assignments to the last minute. Even if your teachers have only briefly mentioned a piece of information, the information is not on the slide or is only mentioned in a few words; make sure you know it because they will likely test you on that. The practicals aren't as daunting as they sound. You'll have to be your own advocate when it comes to what courses you want to take. If possible, take the medical terminology class during your first semester there. It is an easy course and will really help you in your future vet sci or nursing classes.
