WHAT I LIKED

Prepares students in STEM well for post graduate programs such as medical school

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

The school is really STEM based and not for students interested in business. Bad food and dorms aren't really good.

WHAT I LIKED

I really enjoyed that there are so many different clubs on campus and, I found some clubs with people like me and where it felt most like home. The classes get harder as they go but if you put your mind to it you’ll be fine.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

The dining hall food is hit or miss. But there are other options on campus if you don’t want dining hall food. They just cost money.

WHAT I LIKED

Stony Brook is a wonderful school for incoming freshmen who are eager to learn. It is not a party school but you will make lifelong friendships with a lot of students.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

Be aware of the social life at stony brook. This is a commuter school so a lot of people go back home on the weekends.

WHAT I LIKED

Stony brook is good for academics and classes but does not offer the greatest social life at all and the dorms are often less than mediocre.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

No great social environment, no frats on campus, and the campus is often depressing sometimes.
