Southern Arkansas University is very family-oriented. Professors care about the person that you are and truly want you to succeed.
As an agriculture student, I absolutely adore Southern Arkansas University. SAU is a very modest, sociable, and genuine place. The teachers are very helpful and will stretch things occasionally to help you out. Personally, my favorite part about the campus is the farm road, which is where all the cows and horses are, and it is such a good exercise place! There is a Chic-fil-a, Panda Express, Subway, Grilleworks, and the cafe of course!
If you are to go to SAU, the newer housing options such as Magnolia Hall, Columbia Hall, Arkansas Hall, and Burns-Harsh Hall are the more upkeep buildings! Talley Hall, Greene Hall, and Talbot hall are the oldest on campus, but fun if you don’t mind living in an older building! SAU is a great place to go to school and the best place to make new friends!
I absolutely love SAU as a whole. I wouldn't have chosen another college if I had to remake my decision. As soon as I left my tour, after touring 3 other college campuses, I told my mom, this is where I'm going, without a doubt. It just feels like home. The campus, the people, the staff, and the opportunities to be in an organization, club, or activity are amazingly open. They offer so many aids to students as well including a counseling center, campus clinic, and campus PD to ensure our safety.
The only thing I really don't like is that while there are a ton of food choices, there aren't too many healthier choices in the dining hall.
