WHAT I LIKED

My advisor, Andrea has been wonderful, guiding me every step of the way in choosing the right classes that will assist me in reaching my goal of earning my degree and what makes the most sense in my career path. So far the experience has been nothing but positive!

WHAT I LIKED

Overall the campus is pretty peaceful, and it isn't too hard to navigate. In my experience, the department of mass communications is the most fun to be apart of. I also like the organizations you can join, especially the TRIO Program.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

The STEM program isn't the best, and most professors I've come across aren't too good at teaching the material. If you drive, parking also sucks. The admin isn't too good at listening to the students either.

Make sure you use your resources to guide you through SEMO. Also do not be afraid to join new clubs and extra-curricular activities.

WHAT I LIKED

Southeast Missouri State University is a great college for anyone looking for an affordable school that will provide great education and a great community.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

Keep track of registration dates. I made the mistake of missing a date my Freshman year and it caused me to have to re-enroll in several classes. Check your email, Southeast is good at notifying you but you have to check your school email.

WHAT I LIKED

I love the program that I went with at Semo. There are some professors that I can safely say care a lot about their students and their accomplishments.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

The only thing that I had a problem with was the parking. I paid over $100 for a basic parking pass that was only covered in one small area of the entire campus. There were a lot of days that I had to walk over a mile just to get to one class. If you mix that, my athletic inability, and a mask, it can be really difficult to get around campus. Definitely make sure to utilize the shuttle services if you can get a shuttle that matches your schedule.
